Logs

We were lucky enough to have another warm and sunny day today, so ventured to Dalkeith Country Park for a walk.

Last year I invested in a pair of those slightly odd-looking LL Bean ‘duck boots’ with the rubberised lower half, to wear on winter walks. They really came into their own today as I marched through puddles and squelched through mud without a second thought!

At one point, we came upon some stacks of logs at the side of the path. I’m assuming these are birch logs. Their papery, lined bark reminds me of New England.
