What a lovely day:-

for a new year for new beekeepers

This is the Ramsey Beekeepers Association Apiary at Glen Truan, in the Parish of Bride.

So far as the bees are concerned it is a wonderful spot.  This is an area of small scale diversified agriculture and is full of wild flowers and a Nature Reserve all within flying distance. Even in winter it gets the sun and is well sheltered naturally.

Although there is little beekeeping to be done at this time of year it is an opportunity to introduce new and prospective beekeepers to the joys (and obligations) of keeping bees.

Oh, and the most important part of it all is that we can have a cup of tea (and Christmas cake) and a natter....
