The day started brighter than it has for a while, so after the usual holiday slow start reading the papers etc T and I went off to Frosts to browse the plants etc. we got a few bits and pieces to brighten up the dull winter garden and had a leisurely look around their sale in the main building….not very enticing though. Popped into supermarket for some bits for lunch then home to meet up with Kt who’d been out at scentwork with Heston (he came 4th) and we had a Dickie J lunch. Just as we finished, the rain started and apart from T scattering the grass seed on their lawn’s bare patches (given it’s 15degrees at the moment it will probably start to grow!) we abandoned the gardening plans and decided to spend the afternoon playing Scrabble. Our first game (starting here) didn’t go very well, with lots of short words, but by the second game we’d hit our stride. A likes playing it…we should do it more often I think!
In the evening T was out at his work’s Christmas ‘do’ so Kt and I went out for a Thai dinner which was lovely, and chatted about getting back into the mindset of making travel plans, things I might want to do post retirement, horses and showjumping.
