King’s Beach

Started today with a nice long, overdue catch up call with the delightful RachelWhyNot! A long time friend whom I haven’t spoken to since we arrived in Oz I think! Great to hear her voice after ages.

Bruce and Jenny’s eldest daughter Bridgette, is turning 40 on Thursday, and today Jenny and her other daughters and grandkids came round to discuss what we were going to do for the party, which is at our house, re. decorations, food, etc.

Bridgette has booked an indigenous boat trip on Mooloolaba river, for all the family, in the late morning and then after, everyone is coming round to our place for cake and nibbles.

After the meeting, and as it’s the last day of Martin’s and Jon’s time off from work, we decided to drive down to King’s Beach for fish and chips. We had gone there back in April when we first arrived and had the best fish and chips there, and today was just as good.

We then had a walk along the boardwalk. We were surprised to see people in the sea, as the swells are really high because of Cyclone Seth that is just off the coast of Queensland. We managed a few family pics too, see extras :).

Back home to some relaxing time on the patio. Our neighbour from next door came and joined us and it was nice just sitting with him and learning about/getting to know him more.

Think it’s been a good break for Martin and he says he’s looking forward to going back to work!
