Cold Fish

Bit of an Emergency Blip - it was not a day for going out.

Naturally I went out twice.  I went shopping and managed to get a bus down to the supermarket in Schierstein.  I scooted round the supermarket in double quick time - I wasn't buying much - and got to the check-out.  There were 2 open.  Another shock.  And I was first.  Unprecedented.

I got my stuff packed and left the supermarket.  And my luck ran out.

I can get 2 buses home.  Bus No. 1 was just leaving the bus stop as I came out.  OK.  Let's trundle down to the harbour and try for the other one.  I watched the other one leave about 30 seconds before I could get to the bus-stop.  I didn't fancy waiting 20 minutes in the pouring rain,  and I knew there was a bus stop about 20 minutes away that had a roof so I stomped off.

Got to the covered bus stop in good time.   Just before this bus stop is a pedestrian crossing for employees of a local firm.  There's a traffic island there and the street on both sides is really narrow.

I saw my bus trundling behind an articulated lorry.  The articulated lorry driver stopped at the pedestrian crossing, switched on his hazard lights and proceeded to make a call on his mobile.  My bus can't get past.  There's too much traffic.

I used some bad words.  Because paying attention and being a considerate road user is beyond the wit of so many people here.

10 minutes later I got into the bus.

A clear winner of AdT.
