We’re having a go at a meat free January. This is aduki bean pie - actually an old staple that we enjoy, and made much easier these days as you can buy aduki beans in cans thus avoiding having to soak them overnight and boil them before cooking. I guess if you swapped the beans for minced meat it would be a shepherd’a pie. The beans are cultivated in Asia
