Intricate map

Back in the 1970s (a VERY long time ago) I studied geology at university. I loved the subject, finding it so interesting. This is a photograph of a geological map of part of the island of Mull which I have had hanging on the wall in all the different places I have lived. My tutor at university once said that this map was considered to be the most beautiful geological map in the world because of its many colours and concentric rings showing the different rocks that were formed when west Scotland was an area of volcanoes and fissures oozing lava, a bit like modern day Iceland.
