The Tide Is High

After we dropped Sophie at school, we headed to Burnham-On-Sea again for our regular stroll along the River Parrett down to the seafront. We’d decided not to walk along the beach as there was a bitingly cold wind and it was a good job we had as the tide was so high it was lapping against the sea wall and there was no beach to walk on.

We’d never seen the river so high either: even at high tide you can normally still see the muddy banks.

We got as far as Wetherspoon’s for breakfast then headed back to check all was well at our friends house. They were due back from America this week but a pre-flight Covid test came back positive, so they’ve had to delay their return until next week.

This afternoon was spent taking down all the Christmas decorations to meet the Twelfth Night deadline.

Blonde, anyone?
