Comfort

A weird day:  yesterday our heating played up.  None in the main part of the house only worked in our bedroom which is an extension and has separate system.  So our 5yo didn’t stay the night but went home and we didn’t see her today either.  You can see what my hot drink symbolises!  The miniature mince pies are those I share with our baby!  She is not keen on the mincemeat but loves the pastry!  So she has the lid and I eat the bottom!

This morning we did our first shopping since Christmas: Tesco and Asda and back to buy a little heater.  Not strong enough to do much as we found out.  But would be ok in a small bedroom I think.

This afternoon a walk. A beautiful day but freezing.  The plumber who has been sorting out all our problems since we first moved here set the heating going this evening and we are at last thawing out!  Hopefully he will find a replacement for our offending actuator tomorrow and will replace it!

Tomorrow is Epiphany. The three kings arrive to see Jesus with their gifts.  Usually the Friday ladies meet and I make a galette but we haven't since the advent of Covid. But we will be putting away all the decorations. Just leaving the crib for the kings to visit!
