Life on Mars

It's a God-awful small affair, but just over a year ago after rave reviews and favouriting of my Bread of Life (Well, I can dream!), I thought I would put my latest sourdough creation up for scrutiny too.

It's the freakiest show, but happily not a sunken dream either. I have no idea what it will taste like, but this is an experimental ‘beetroot, feta and chilli’ affair made without recipe and resulting in a rather pink hue.

The beetroot had been left unused in the fridge from before Christmas. For some reason the loaf reminded me of the Red Planet - but hopefully no little green men here other than just the sourdough culture.
