Anne's Daily Encounters

Pastoral

Perfect weather for a walk along the fields and than it's easy to halt when a herd of sheep is in the field... I love picturing the sheep.

In the eve when back home I learned that my dear friend Manolis Kavroulakis had died yesterday from that hidious auto-immune disease that struck him one month ago. We all are heartbroken that he's gone; mostly his wife and daughter, but also his close friend with whom their friendship was like brotherhood. His family her in Chania, surely is sad too, no doubt about that. When I learned that he'll be buried in his wife's family grave in Austria, close to their home, I felt a big relief. Knowing his wife will visit his grave and find comfort in nursing it like she's doing to her parents and now to her man too.
His burial will be next week, for his brother and sister to come from Crete and his friend from Hungary. It's so sad he's gone, but we're all glad he does not have to suffer anymore.
