Sint Maarten vandaag

Today we have had a tour round the Franco/Dutch island of Sint Maarten. 

The island was much destroyed by hurricane Irma in 2017, but is slowly getting back on its feet and is very welcoming to tourists coming back, supporting the tourism industry and providing much needed employment.

The island is in the Guinness Book of records as being the worlds smallest island divided between two countries, The Netherlands and France (see the extra for the border crossing between the two countries).

It’s rather warm and sunny, but we are coping. I hope you are all doing ok too.
