The bronze statue on the Zakkendragers pipe on the Kleine Voorstraat represents Rikus Attema who is about to set out on his moped. Characteristic were the large letters PERS and a cat that were depicted on the obligatory yellow plate of his moped. In Harlingen he was therefore also known as Rikus Poes. As a journalist for the Harlinger Courant, Rikus Poes drove daily through the city to collect the news from the neighbourhood. His panniers were filled with newspapers and he always had his notebook to hand. He worked as a city reporter for the Harlinger Courant from 1952 until his retirement in 1978.

The statue was made by old Harlinger Henk Zielstra.
