Sisters

Daughters#1 and #2 were able to meet up today for a few hours, the first time for over 2 years. We drove down to Cliveden NT for the reunion, also attended by grandsons Rory and Joe.

#1 phoned 119 yesterday for advice because she hadn't had her 2 day PCR test result back yet. She still hasn't. Pretty poor really. Luckily following the recent rule change she was told that from 4am this morning she no longer had to quarantine while waiting for the result, so was able to leave the house and travel. She had done a lateral flow test anyway for her fit to fly test and that was negative. Our son-in-law had also got permission from Rory's headteacher for him to take the day off. So all looked good.

However, as we were on our way we got a message from #2 that someone in Rory's school had just tested positive for Covid. Panic! They did a lateral flow on Rory, which was negative, so we decided to carry on with the plan, staying outside at Cliveden, with no hugging.

It was great to meet up though. Rory was really, really pleased to see his Auntie PipPip and insisted on being in the blip. Joe was a bit shy though, and took quite a while to come out of his shell. I remember Rory was like that when he was that age.

The weather was better than we expected. We had pasties and sausage rolls from the outdoor kiosk followed by a nice walk in the gardens ending up at the play area. We also got to the centre of the Cliveden maze. Twice in fact as we got lost trying to find our way out the first time and ended up back in the centre. Our SIL took the extra of us in the centre, in the style of Incredibish! Joe was still too shy to feature.

We had a super curry this evening, another request from #2. She goes back to Germany tomorrow :-(
