A Brighter Frame of Mind

Of course, all the Christmas decorations should have come down yesterday but I haven’t quite managed to bring myself to the place where I can deliberately put aside the light of Christmas and face the slow perambulation of January gloom. So, tonight the fairy lights are still going to twinkle red, yellow and blue and in the morning angels will still catch any passing sunbeams.

And even if it’s just borrowed brightness that surely makes it easier to reflect more optimistically on the world outside the window pane.
