Mark Twain's Quote

I love this quote. We post it when we travel. I use it in my geography courses. It's just so very true. There's a lot of truth in stereotypes but not when somebody from outside the group labels it. Our perceptions can radically change once we have met "the other." And the best way to do that is by traveling. Since we've been in a pandemic for almost two years, we haven't traveled much at all. A couple of trips to see our kids and gkids, and camping are all we've done. And some day trips to museums, beaches, and Joshua Tree NP. I've relearned to be grateful for our little home, backyard, zooms, texts, phone calls, sending postcards, walking our pup and painting furniture. Hopefully we'll be able to travel again sometime soon.
