Coronation Punch

Spotted in the window of a local charity shop. It didn’t actually seem to have any price on it, apart from the original 1/- (5p in “new money”) which, allowing for inflation, would now work out about £3.62. I’m sure they’ll want a bit more than that, even though it’s not in pristine condition.

Punch was established in 1841 and closed, after a long decline, in 1992. It was revived for a few years between 1996 and 2002. There would probably still be a few in dentists’ waiting rooms until the pandemic forced a clear out of such fripperies.
