Just a snack

It was a beautiful morning so I set of around the fields with the big lens.  I spotted a couple of pheasants but couldn't get the camera to focus.  I could get great pictures of the grass at my feet but couldn't work out why it wouldn't focus at length, and I didn't have my reading glasses with me.

I returned home feeling quite disgruntled, changed lenses, and all was well, so it was the lens.  Problem spotted.  I had somehow knocked the focal length switch from 1.3 to infinity to 1.3 to 6m.  Phew!

I spent a while in the garden photographing birds coming to the feeders and cleared away lots of soggy leaves from around the geraniums, so not a wasted morning.
