Arniston Bridge #17

OMG finally, bridge 17... compared to the previous 16 bridges, this one is some distance from any of the others. The River South Esk winds 2km through a forested glen with the walking path high up, and given I have found several hidden bridges already, I had wondered whether there were more in that 2km.

But after 3 attempts, I've only managed to cover about 80% of the full 2km, and don't really want to keep doing this walk so decided to blip the bridge I do know exists. The walk is so muddy at the moment and Arlo needs a shower each time we return, which is entertaining in itself, but not a reason to keep walking it!

I do want to explore more of this section, maybe one day I'll add a bridge to the series if I find it. We usually walk along the river every year for the past 15 years as part of a community walk, but because there is a goal to get back to the village hall before the fine buffet starts to run low, the walk is done at pace, and chat, with little time to really let it all sink in, and this (almost) past year with Arlo has been an eye opener for the area... which in one way is a shame it has taken so long, and the other way, whatever, we are seeing it now.

So... #17 is a pretty big bridge, and is surround by red sandstone cliffs, and I don't quite know why it is there, if not to continue to #16, and hence how does it get there, and does it cross a bridge no longer there... which means there is no hidden bridge. We did find a track down to the river and on the other side, but no sign of a bridge...

Right, one bridge to go, of that I am certain and it must be the easiest one to blip, can almost blip it from the car park! Let's get this party... er... ended!
