Haigh Hall Windpump

Stopped off at Haigh Hall today whilst out and about.
The windmill as it is known locally close to the old village of Haigh in Wigan is a mid-nineteenth Century wind-pump that was used to pump water for use in a local brewery. Said to have been constructed around 1845 it is not shown on the OS Map surveyed between 1845-47.
The windmill is a favourite landmark for locals, although it is tiny in comparison to an actual windmill.
The Haigh Windmill and has been renovated and preserved in recent years.
