Mono Monday - fact of fiction

St Mary Magdalen Church, Sheet, Hampshire.
The story about this church which was built in 1868 is 'fact' (as far as I am aware)
Apparently in 1942 some ladies were clearing out the Christmas flower arrangements and threw some yew branches onto the nearby adjoining fields.  Some cattle ate them, and being poisonous, two sadly died.  The insurance didn't cover the £70 compensation but the curate sat in the church all day to receive  contributions.  Almost every household responded and a total of £189 was raised!
