Red Sky at Night

……but we also had red sky in the morning, so is that good or bad weather??? I walked into town first thing for a haircut, we’d had a frost but the paths had already cleared. Then I had a nice catch up with one of my sisters. I also spent an hour clearing ivy from the edge of the field to stop it encroaching. This afternoon I went over to a sunny Sheringham to get some birthday cards. On the way back to the car I had an urge to nip into the charity shop where I bought a book called Remember When, written by Robert Opie, whose brand collection was used to make the picture in the jigsaw i blipped yesterday - spooky!

Day 667 / Day 34 of Plan B (for my record only)
Boris admitted at the start of PMQs that he did attend the event in the Downing St garden on 20/5/20 for 25 mins and sort of apologised, although thought he was attending a work event. I expect sufficient letters of no confidence will be sent by Tory MPs to the Chair of the 1922 Committee to trigger a leadership challenge. Djokovic has blamed his agent for completing his Australia entry form incorrectly and saying he hadn’t travelled in the previous 14 days when he had. He said he didn’t know he was positive when giving out awards to kids, but apologised for giving an in person interview when he did know and should have been self isolating. Sooooo difficult to assess whether it will be Boris or Novak that will win the ‘Pinocchio’ award! The High Court has ruled that the Govt’s awarding of PPE contracts via a ‘VIP lane’ at the start of the pandemic was unlawful, although said that the two companies in question would have probably got the contracts anyway. The ONS weekly infection survey of private households to 6th Jan shows an estimated 4.3m had Covid in the UK (up 15%) the highest recorded; with 1 in 15 with the virus in England (unchanged); 1 in 20 in Scotland (unchanged); 1 in 20 in Wales (unchanged); and 1 in 20 in NI (up) [estimate UK cases up 15% doesn’t match with largely unchanged virus estimates in each country]
