Life through the lens...

Is it a bird?

No, it was a squirrel.
As you can see from the extra photo it was very high up in the tree.
Thought it was a bird with long tail feathers, but when I zoomed in with the camera saw it was just a grey squirrel looking down at us.
Another couple were passing also thought it was a bird.

You can see we have had a lovely day, Blue sky and sunshine, and up to 10C. Not wind made it seem very warm.

This shot was taken in the woods by Golden Acre Park, Leeds.
After a walk to Paul’s Pond, we had a coffee and then walked round the lake and through more woods to Adel Dam, and the Yorkshire Wildlife Reserve. They were replacing the smaller hide. The new one looked very posh. Hopefully much larger as it was always a squash with 6 people inside.
There wasn’t much to see at the other hide. Only 4 teal across the other side of the water. No sign of the kingfisher today.
It was however a nice walk through the woods.
Then to the cafe to meet some friends for lunch.
On the way home we called in at the new farm shop. They have been closed for two weeks for their annual holiday.
I asked if they had any stems of sprouts, and she said “ No, but if you don’t mind waiting I will go and cut one for you.”
Well of course we didn’t!
She came back with a huge stem. I counted 56 individual sprouts. So now, as usual, they are outside in the bucket. Will certainly last us a few meals.
