Dazzled

Back in Glastonbury for the day, so of course we had to go to the Abbey - when we lived here we walked most days in the 36 acres of abbey grounds, and it was lovely to be back (and we still have our membership cards, so free entry!). Lots of acrobatic squirrels, the first crocuses, and some familiar faces amongst the regulars and staff. It was such a glorious day that we spent a while sitting in the sunshine on one of the benches in what used to be the monks' cloister, and this is the view of the Abbot's Kitchen - straight into the dazzling afternoon sun! Quite a fun result, even on the phone.

Afterwards, we drove across the Levels into a luminous sunset, with the hilltop ruined church at Burrow Mump (dedicated to St Michael, as so many of these hilltop churches are, including the one on Glastonbury Tor) silhouetted against the glowing sky. Stunning - but nowhere to pull in and take pics! Etched in our memories, nonetheless.
