Thrush's Egg

This is one of two that I found within a foot of each other on the lawn this morning.

Can only assume they were scavenged from a nearby nest ( though I hadn't noticed any signs of nesting). The yolks are still intact so the predator may have dropped them and they broke on landing, or it took fright.

(I'm not ruling out Fatty from yesterday's blip as the culprit)

They usually lay more than two, so hopefully others have survived.

Sorry, not very cheery!

On a brighter note...it's a beautiful Sunny Saturday!!
