Food in the North.

There are several dishes for which the North of England is well known. Up here we have Cumberland Sausage and Kendal Mint Cake (as eaten on the top of Mount Everest). A little further South you will find Lancashire Hotpot. And to the East of us you will enter areas where they actually know how to make Yorkshire Puddings.
But traditionally it is pies which retain their popularity, especially with the older generation. The town of Wigan is often thought of as the pie capital of the world. It is even said that you will find signs which say No Pies are kept in this van overnight to deter burglars.
