The Light at the End of the Pier

We had lunch booked at the Gurnards Head so we decided to go to St Ives and have a wander about first. For old times sake we parked up at the leisure centre and walked down Tregenna steps to the town. Marian went off round the shops and I took a walk along the front of the harbour and up Smeaton's pier. It was a lovely morning and the sun was very harsh. I like this picture of the cast iron lighthouse at the end. The original pier was extended in the 1890s and this light was added then.

We had a good meal at the Gurnards Head. It was Ray Wings in a shallot and butter sauce, a fish neither of us had tried before and it was delicious.
