Leftovers

This sad pile of feathers and a beak is all that is left of a moorhen on the path by the Netherblane pond today.  It was clearly a meal for a bird of prey. I saw a buzzard in the trees there last year so that's a likely candidate. I wasn't sure what kind of bird it was until I saw another moorhen on the pond and checked online at home.. They have a very distinctive beak.
