Winter Duck

There are lots of ducks and geese in the lakes or ponds right now. I am not sure what duck this is...it doesn't exactly fit any descriptions I looked up for Oregon Ducks. I like the water as an abstract...notice that weird reflection of its second head... See extra if you have time for a better shot of the duck. 

Ron had an appointment with his Chemo Oncologist today; it sounds like he was brutally honest about the possible outcomes of the treatment Ron will start on Monday. Eventually, Ron might be getting his treatment with a  helmet of some sort. Ron asked how long he would be doing that treatment; the answer made him realize it would prolong life and not be a cure....the end of the helmet would be because it wasn't able to prolong his life any longer.  They left there feeling a little depressed and sad...but still counting their blessings. Ron called me when he got home, and it was difficult hearing his sadness, even if he is still feeling grateful for these days of feeling well.
