In heats of 4 entrants are pitted against each other, the one with the most votes progressing to the next round. Eventually, a winner is revealed.

If this has one less nail, or one less piece of wood it would immediately cease to be a stile and just a gap in the fence. On that basis it's the simplest stile, flanked every other year by Foxgloves.
