Sad passings

Barcelona has sadly, recently lost two of its architects responsible for the successful transformation from the dull tardy Franco era.
The news of Bofill's death today was announced by his studio Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura (RBTA), - which I visited.
Bofill founded studio RBTA in 1963. Its best-known projects include Walden 7 and the brightly coloured La Muralla Roja housing estate in Manzanera.(see above)
Also recently we lost
Oriol Bohigas was an extraordinary architect and urban planner who, in his practice (MBM) Martorell Bohigas Mackay, was instrumental in the transformation of Barcelona – a project which resulted in the City receiving the Royal Gold Medal in 1999. He also engaged in projects around the world.
I recall an inspirational lecture he gave at the V&A.
I dug out a couple of RBTA projects,
the red wall and Xanadu at Calpe, Spain.
