Pier at Salthill

A lovely afternoon in Galway this afternoon, went for a walk along the prom at Salthill, along with half of Galway City it seemed.  There is a tradition of kicking the wall at the end of the prom, for some forgotten reason that no one can explain to me, bur everyone does it. It was high tide and the sea was wonderfully calm with loads of hardy swimmers in the water, both with and without wetsuits. Today's blip is the pier at Salthill, a famous jumping off point for swimmers, but no one was leaping into the water today, it was all much more sedate than that, The extra is swimmers in the water, just to show that they were there.

Addendum: I've just been told it's not the pier at Salthill, it's the diving board at Blackrock. But it doesn't look like a board to me?
