Nature Diary... Around and About

A day of sunshine and clouds but mild and calm throughout with the forecast being similar for the next week. Good!

A happy sight this morning – my Hyacinth bulb has produced an abundance of roots in its pretty, green, purpose made vase (received as a gift many years ago in a pretty little box, complete with a hyacinth bulb which long since bloomed successfully in the vase). I don’t know what colour this hyacinth will turn out to be, which is half the fun!

A stroll round our garden revealed a brave fuchsia continuing to bloom and also producing a couple of buds. Hardy little plant.

High up on the hill the sheep from the local farm seem happy and are growing healthily by the look of things, while a beautiful Herring Gull looks out to sea from a vantage point high up on the cliffs.

On the clifftop beside the sea Big Tree looks to be thriving as it basks in the morning sunshine and it seems there is a change in the colour of the foliage making me think it’s beginning to tentatively produce new growth.

Potentially a lovely time of year but oh so weather dependent.
