Why Won’t he just GO!

some people think 
       they can lie 
               themselves
                        out of trouble
                               slither and slide
                         their way back in
                    the good books

Others take great pride in being truthful 
In being trusted to do the right thing.

  some people see 
        mistakes as a failure
            that you should 
                 never never ever 
                        own up to lest
                               you are found
                                   to be incompetent

Others see mistakes as a chance to learn
A chance for self improvement.

                      some people brag 
                 about their success
           and how much good 
                they have done 
                     for their country
                          they don uniforms
                                 and hard hats 
                                      down pints of beer
                                            to show they’re 
                                        just like us
                                but they’re not
                           never will be
                        some people
                     are delusional

Others work selflessly, sometimes thanklessly
For others, simply because it feels right.

        some people 
     follow their leader
          pat him on the back
                and big him up
                     In the hope that 
                          they might get 
                      promoted
                  get a pay rise
               even get 
           his job
              some 
                  people
                        have no
                           conscience
                               no shame
                                    no integrity
                                         snakes
                                             in the 
                                                 grass


Not much done today, migraine, a sleep and now better.
A bit of sewing, watched the news, round the block with Bella,
Now going to knit and watch telly. Hope you’ve had a good Sunday.
