Carpet Factory

This splendid building started off life as Templeton's Carpet Factory. Designed by William Leiper in 1888 and is now A listed. An art deco extension was added in the 1930s by George Boswell. No longer a factory, it has become an urban village with a brewbar and housing. It sits in the Eastend of the city on the edge of Glasgow green.
Beside it is the James Martin Memorial Fountain dating from 1893. It was forged at William McFarlane's Saracen Foundry. It's B listed. (See extra for photo). The reason I've added this is due to a blip from BanksiaMan this morning. He had an extra photo of a fountain in Australia from the same Glasgow foundry. I decided then I would blip one from Glasgow.
Some more photos of the walk in Glasgow Green here. It was a beautiful sunny but cold day.
