Blue Sky Monday Bullfinch

The only thing blue about my Monday was the gorgeous clear blue sky.

A red blob bobbed through the blue this morning. The bullfinch settled first in a hawthorn and I got a poor shot. As we rounded the south-eastern corner of disused glasshouse number thirteen a pair landed briefly in a willow in direct sunlight. My clever camera picked up the male's eye through a tangle of twigs. His red breast looks orange in this light. I hear these birds calling plaintively constantly but don't often spot them or manage a shot as they are so shy.
