Black-Backed Gull.....

...feeding on a crab or shellfish, most likely a pipi. It's the most common largest gull in New Zealand.

Lovely morning for our beach walk. Misty both north and south but clear in between. The waves were crashing onto shore on an outgoing tide, not many swimmers in today, a light sea breeze kept the temperature down and made our walk enjoyable.

Thankful the mornings have been calm enough for me to be at the beach which I enjoy, my eyes can't handle the beach and gardening unless it's a super calm day, today it was not the case.
