Life in Newburgh on Ythan

By Talpa

A few miles up-stream from Newburgh-on-Ythan

A view of the Ythan reed-beds at Logie Buchan a few miles upstream from the river mouth. A bridge was built across the river at this point in the early 1930s as a memorial to the men of Logie Buchan Parish who had perished in the First World War. Prior to that, crossing the river had involved using a ferry, a rowing boat, the remains of the jetty are still to be seen in the foreground.
The extra show the memorial plaque on the bridge.
