Magic box

Alfs excellent new car is 15 years old and so has a few niggles. One of which is the headlights which are supposed to have a self levelling feature so that when there is a heavy load in the boot they don’t point towards the sky and blind oncoming traffic ( clearly bad ).

His are pointing down which is fine for full beam but means they are a little poor when on dip.

His car has a couple of broken sensors which is why the lights don’t raise. The sensors are £400 each!

Luckily I found a small circuit that can fool the car and make the lights raise. Unfortunately it was a little complex
for me, fortunately we know Nick who is a proper electronics engineer who very kindly built one for us.

An hour in the freezing cold this evening and it’s fitted and working!

It’s going for a big service tomorrow fingers crossed that goes well…
