Compton Verney

I’ve been to Compton Verney today to see the two exhibitions they have on there for only a few more days. Unfortunately everyone else must have had the same idea because it was very busy.
The Grinling Gibbons ( 17th century ) wood carvings were absolutely exquisite and the extra shows some of his still life work . The detail is extraordinary.
The other exhibition of the work of John Nash early twentieth century artist, illustrator and war artist was very different but equally interesting and impressive . His war paintings from his time  in the trenches was really quite moving.
The light was tricky inside and there were people in the way quite a lot of the time, so my blip is of the winter aconites in the grounds.
