Listening Party

7One of the good things to come out of the lockdowns was Tim's Twitter Listening Parties.

This is is the accompanying, inevitable, Christmas book that I got as a present.

The concept was simple, bearing in mind we were all stuck at home...

At a nominated time everyone puts on an album, gets on twitter, follows the hashtag and shares their stories and comments about when they listened to it, or what it means to you.

As it gained popularity, and boy did it, often Tim [Tim Burgess lead singer of The Charlatans] would manage to get the artists involved too.

Mike Scott of The Waterboys was a brilliant companion to tell you who played what and the stories for each track, Paul McCartney for McCartney III nearly broke the Internet.

It's still a thing and you can follow, and even replay old listening parties.

It was something communal when we were all isolated, I will always treasure those hours listening along, and still join in.
