Closing the Gate

I visited the canal again today, can’t resist on such a bright day, and there were a few boats out and about.
A large barge operated by just one chap was going through lock 2 on the Leigh Branch of the Leeds/Liverpool, and this cyclist stopped to do the gates so that the man could stay on his boat as he passed through!
It would have been quite difficult otherwise, and I’m pleased to see that complete strangers are still prepared to help one another!
