The Lozarithm Lens

Sells Green (Wednesday 19th January 2022)

I took these pictures near sunset on Wednesday, processed them on Thursday, and prepared the blip on Friday. It's been busy. Along the way I had a satellite set top box failure on Tuesday night and Archie had her MOT and intermediate sevice on Thursday.

After a visit to an audio-visual technician on Wednesday for advice I just had time to park in Spout Lane for this canal walk up to Rusty Lane Swing Bridge as twilight descended.

I approached some birdfeeders beside the towpath on the return walk and saw a spotted woodpecker fly off. I got out my bridge camera and stood back in case it returned. There was a lot of activity from great tits, blue tits, goldfinches and a long-tailed tit, the first I'd seen in quite a while (see Extra). I rarely see anything on my own birdfeeders despite the smorgasbord of treats on offer.

This was the last picture I took, looking back, at 1606 hr.

When I heard this on Cerys Matthews show in the New Year I was sure it must be the Nashville session crew known as Area Code 615. It's not.
