Gilmorehill from Yorkhill

On this hill one of the many hills of Glasgow was erected in 1870 the University of Glasgow designed by George Gilbert Scott after the medieval buildings in the High St became unsuitable. In the second half of the 20thC the campus spread north and west changing the skyline. Changes afoot this century involve the takeover and development of the adjoining lower land further south west down to Church St and Dumbarton Road once leased to the now demolished Western Infirmary by the University.
