COOTAMUNDRA WATTLE

Angus & I pass this native Australian
tree in our longest walk & it catches my eye every time. It’s a small, fast growing evergreen tree that has the most beautiful, distinct feathery leaves. They are
lavender/purple when they first emerge, then turn a blue/gray. So, the tree shimmers with this combination of colors.

In my Blip you can see the masses of flower buds, which will soon emerge as tiny, fragrant yellow beauties. They will last through Spring, so I plan to return to see them.

Outside of Australia, this tree is BAILEY’S ACACIA “Purpurea.” DownUnder,
it is sometimes called COOTAMUNDRA Wattle.
