Roaring Meg

Roaring Meg is one of New Zealand's earliest hydro-electric power schemes, being commissioned in 1936.  It consists of two small power stations. This is the lower of the two stations, discharging into the Kawarau River.

In extras, a map of our walk today, up the Roaring Meg Pack Track. And also in extras, an image of the storage dam, shown in the map, that is used to feed water into the upper power station.
