Catkins

Not quite opened, but the first I've seen this year.

Overcast but still....so unusual. Drove down to Rampside and did the 'Concle walk'.. which starts from... The Concle Inn! The pub has been there since the early 19th Century.
It hasnt changed in at least the last 50 years , since I first went as a teenager. It's a popular spot to stop for a drink before walking back the 3 + miles to Barrow.

The walk goes down what was once the old railway line to Roa Island. The line has long since gone and is now a popular place to walk or cycle.
Today it was quite quiet , only a few people. It can get too busy at the weekend . I took a few photos with the telephoto lens but was disappointed with the results.. Shot on aperture priority and the ISO was high and so the photos were quite grainy. A learning curve today.
Extra shows what I think is one of the Pilot boats for the docks, with the wind turbines in the distance
