Nurse log

Nurse log is, I believe, the term for a fallen tree which provides a source of nutrients for other trees which grow on them. Whether that really applies to this fallen tree whose branches have become trees in their own right, I don't know.
I saw this on a long walk in Kilmartin Glen today, which extended down to the Crinan Canal. Extras are from today's walk and include the new walls of the redeveloped museum finally becoming apparent.
