Disappearing Light

The light snuffed out like a candle as the sun went down and I rushed to catch it. I positioned the sun at the edge of the frame as I was worried that the highlights would blow out, but it worked out ok.

I liked the bounced light off the ice which glowed yellow and I was able to lift the shadows to get some detail. I quite liked the graphic nature of the original capture with the branches silhouetted and it made for a dark moody image, but I can't quite bring myself to leave it that way. Perhaps an avenue to explore in the future, with more intent.
