Great Northern Diver

A walk around the shore of the east side of Churchill Barrier #4 between Burray and South Ronaldsay. Lots of curlews, ringed plovers, long-tailed ducks etc. Fulmars are beginning to turn up again on the cliffs. It's odd that pairs seem to return to a nest-site early yet they don't breed early. It must be a matter of getting in there first (extra).
The diver was fishing in the shallows and I saw it catch a fair-sized flatfish, but the photo wasn't great.
